Our client is looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and hands-on Senior Financial Accountant/Office Manager to lead their accounting and office team in providing the highest level of internal and external customer service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day to day activities of the accounting and office staff including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, contracts, job cost, human resources, and office administration
  • Establish, implement, and maintain best practices in accounting – must have a willingness to understand the accounting process from the bottom up and work with senior management to ensure the accounting practices implemented improve efficiency and accuracy of financial data
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the accounting team and other departments with the goal of improving the communication and customer service to senior management and project managers
  • Oversee all project billings ensuring accurate and timely billing to clients
  • Oversee general ledger accounting including general ledger account review, recording of adjusting entries, agreement to sub-ledgers, and completion of monthly financial reports
  • Ensure all federal, state, sales and use, and payroll tax obligations are met
  • Manage the annual Company financial review and insurance audits
  • Support ad hoc financial projects as needed by senior management
  • Oversee human resources functions, including benefits administration

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Five to seven years accounting experience
  • Experience managing and developing/coaching accounting staff
  • Construction industry experience preferred
  • Experience using multiple accounting software systems
  • Experience applying accounting concepts, practices, processes, and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working directly with clients and/or other business units
